The concept is interesting but the books I looked at were somewhat brief in the presentation for the various topics. Also, there were few images or graphics to illustrate the topic being discussed.

Flash Earth flashearth.com Satellite and aerial photos. Select Microsoft Virtual Earth to start. Drag the earth such that the point of interest is under the center mark. Zoom in to see details. Objects the size of cars are easily seen. For some locations the photos show individuals (top view of course). You can select other image sources.
